It was a great evening recently as BONA’s technical representative discussed ongoing developments in Bona and the timber industry generally with over 20 qualified Bona applicators as well as other interested parties. Of special interest to many was the role that floor sanders have taken around the world in seeking to have a greater input into the specification area of the floor. Adrian, from Bona, held everyone’s attention as he explained that as Floor-Sanders have had input, this has re-defined how many businesses now specify floors. We could clearly see commercial applications methodology and for the details as defined in the planning stage. Obviously if the specifier gets it right to start with, we all benefit as an industry. Adrian also looked at maintenance and how by suggesting good quality mats and maintenance measures a floor will look good for longer and, as long as we keep in touch with the homeowner, there is a greater supply of referrals possible. As professionals, the forum agreed with and supported Adrian's comments. VCS have supplied good quality matting for a long time and this can add years to the life of a floor. The Floor Sanding community expressed appreciation that BONA had sent a representative and many sanders took the opportunity to register comments regarding the Perth market.
How tough is Traffic?
Using standard 509 testing there is little doubt that many experts believe that TRAFFIC is the toughest finish yet. Frankly we’ve never come across anything tougher and there are now a lot of Traffic floors out there. Comments generally are to the effect that other products tend to scratch more easily and show damage quickly. Clearly this is not a good option. We recommend Traffic for all flooring applications. Not only is it the toughest product around, it is also easy to use and quite forgiving.
